this thread sickens me. its a game. Not real world economics. If all you are in it for is to make loads of cash, find ways to maintain your net worth, then sit on it forever, then why did you buy this GAME!! its a game.
If you really enjoy that sort of thing, apply it to life. Life is where its at!
And if your not at that age yet, then start enjoying the game before you grow up as a workaholic.
(oh, dont wanna sound hostile or pragmatic, its just, people see that as a problem... in a GAME? Somethings wrong there imho.)

nothing's really stopping him from playing the game how he wants. if he wants to invest in a game, then go ahead. i didn't buy this game to be told how to play it. i don't think he did either.

Neither did I, but then Anet came in and said we had to want to be in a large guild in a large alliance.

But will they rise in value? 100g to buy 10g to sell isn't such a wise investment is it?

Actually, it's Pork Bellies or Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice.
I'd go Pork Bellies. Something fishy is going on over in the OJ trading section. I think the Dukes are trying to corner the market.

After making my first million, i just went to ascalon at random times giving low level characters some 10k's. Made a lot of people happy. If you don't want 1000 people swarming around you, buy the low-level item they are selling for high price.
Downside is that some people have a habit getting angry if they get only 10k for free. "You suck, give me atleast 50k since you have that much!".

With that kind of bankroll...
Open up a "gaming" establishment based soley on GvG combat. Post your lines and over/unders. Sure you'll take some losses as you learn to handicap correctly, but at least you can always say "there's no bet too big".
Just watch out for the germs Mr Hughes.

at the op.. I would'nt ask advice on this board- it's good for a laugh even the build section is overrun but in factions amber is hot right now.. long term I'm not sure what to invest in that's stackable but the celestial stuff/gothic axes and amber is good for flips (you prob already know).. I sold off all my ectos awhile bac but looks like they're sticking around 5k so that might be a good stable investment to rebuy into- who knows really right now.. look at sup absorbs

MasterDinadan: haha, yeah. The nerve of some people...
They should make VIP-class towns, to where you can only get in with a 100k fee. in these cities you could buy your 1mil armour pieces, drink your 100k ale, and dye your clothes with exotic 500k dyes.
Yeah.. i'd like that.
Also create a slave-class that does your bidding for the lowly tasks that are not suitable for the noble-class.

lol I think that it how it should be. I give thumbs up to anet for droping the prices. I have to say I am rich in the game, I am happy that anet went this route. I have been spending a ton of my gold on 15k armor and runes. I can't for get skills.

Personally i love how anet continues to strive to make guildwars a 2 hour waitfest as you wait for a 12 man team to gather in an elite mission area with a half decent build with no full-morons present or you go to the ridiculous 12 man alliance battle area that no one goes to or you go do the classic tombs with the 8 man 45 minute wait, Such fun. Then once you get your 12 man elite mission group 15 minutes away from urgoz, 5 of your 12 man team err 7's and you've only wasted the 2 hours getting the group together and the 3 it takes to get to where you were... Again such fun

I think you guys are being too harsh.
-.- He had good drops, made some good investments in materials and he's rich.
I suggest stop worrying about investments and try out the PvP side. Alliance battles, guild battles, etc. You could also try to get the various titles. You have money, relax and do something else.
For me, the best investments i made were in my guild. Funding armors and skills, my guildies have become stronger and are certainly worth more than what i originally invested in them :P Time and moneywise.
